Web based Vessel Monitoring Solution (WVMS) is a next-generation ship operation solution that applies remote vessel operation monitoring and control technology, which is a core technology of autonomous ships.
From the Remote Operation Center (ROC) located on land, it can display real-time information related to ship operation, including navigation, machinery, communication messages, and CCTV video footage. It can remotely control the engine and rudder of ships at sea, as well as analyze and process collected navigation and machinery data to support decision-making for ship operators.
WVMS Phase 1 Technology : NDDS(Navigation Data Distribution System)
Ship operation data is collected, processed, and distributed, then displayed on the WVMS UI according to user requirements. It undergoes big data analysis to support the operator's decision-making process.

The core functions of NDDS are the NDC (Navigation Data Collector), which collects ship data, and the NDD (Navigation Data Distributor), which redistributes the processed data. The data collected through these is transmitted to the cloud for information processing.
The NDDS platform has the advantage of being able to collect, store, and process data in the cloud, making it accessible from anywhere regardless of the location of the ship and the remote operation center. Through cloud data, the same information as the moving ship can be displayed in the land-based remote operation center.

When transmitting ship data to the cloud, satellite communication is used in oceanic zones, while a combination of LTE mobile communication and satellite communication is utilized in coastal areas. This communication environment has been established to flexibly adapt the communication method according to the situation.
